5 weekend necessities

Ready for the weekend?
I certainly will be with some help of the items below!

5 weekend necessities

you know, I have talked about this with so many moms- thinking they would never make something like this for liability reasons, but this fulfills all hopes and dreams
.
remember wishing you had/have an extra arm- welp, this is as good as it's going to get!!

forever21 hair clips for my daughter.  I think finding cute, cheap hair bows are the most challenging thing to find-  check these out- 2 clips for $1.50!!!  At that price I'm willing to walk away from the "lost" bow at the playground!!
yes and yes.

demun oyster bar
clayton, missouri
The seafood is flown in fresh daily- they shuck the oysters right in front
(it's the circle bar behind the bartender)
Mark and I went last weekend and it truly is amazing- reminds us of nyc/ 1920's.
Maybe that's because I just watched "midnight in paris" that weekend (twice).
signature cocktails are fantastic, service is great!  They also offer a full menu if oysters aren't your thing.
yummy!!!

neon in a new light.
yup- rendition of the 80's peeps- you ready?
me? bring it on!

bring a little spring in with flowers-
go to your local grocer and grab some,
go ahead girl- you deserve it!!

Have a great weekend!

see video below:  it's hilarious because it's true.

It's called... "Sh#t new yorkers say."

a gift to remember...

My bookclub just happens to be an amazing group of girls-
We started out as actually reading books and then we moved on to reading wine labels.
I suppose what my husband says is true, it really is "wine club", but we wouldn't have it any other way.
(sometime it's a dance party too)

For the past four years we have had an annual Thanksgiving dinner- everyone brings a dish and the host does the turkey- I mean really folks- it turns out AMAZING every year.

So this year we decided to shake things up a bit and do "secret santas", in January since December is just one crazy month.

As you will see from the photos below- each gift was so thought out- each gift was perfectly tailored to the given individual.

before opening presents.

self timer- had to make sure we got at least "one" good one

and the gift exchange begins!!

LULULEMON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She seriously would have been just as happy with the bag.

Laughing at Laura's reaction to JUST the bag.

In all the hubbub, we got crazy and broke a wine glass in the fireplace.

Still freaking out...

AMY: "What a cute dress..." (you can see her pulling it down to the left)
LAURA:  "It's a tank top."

WHOO HOO!!!

the dance party has begun.

yep- even the dog joined in.

good times.  great friends.

excited united.

so there you have it.  a great night, with great friends.

worth sharing
So as I was reading the february issue of instyle- this popped right out at me.

door, a jar.

There is something incredibly nostalgic about a mason jar.  Either it be a memory filled with tea on warm summers night or that pinterest project you've been dying to try- with thanks to stores like Anthropologie- it's easy to envision one with every style type.  Keep it farm style, or go upscale and incorporate with your silver trays- a mason jar can do some wonders.

Hopefully these projects will also inspire a weekend project or a weekend party!!

adorable, right?!?

a must for the bathroom, nuff' said.

I love these- hanging in the kitchen, above the sink.

make a lot of these and hang them in the tree for a summer night

you can get these kits at michaels.  I love how "clean" it looks.

seriously- how cute is this at a kids party?!?

great way to load up for the work week.  done and done.

I love how rustic the picture and lid look together.

me + spray paint = pure bliss.  I love this idea.  Once I start spray painting one thing, you'll see about 5 more things around the house spray painted.  Why oh why is it so addicting?!  I suppose it's the immediate satisfaction bit.

so cute for a party serving "bite" sized foods.

cornbread and chili- yummy!!  At this point we could just have a party with everything served in mason jars- I've got some dessert coming right up!

hang these around the house or outside in the ivy-fenced garden.  ( I don't have one but hoping someone does out there:))

beautiful- perfect for a shower or just a great way to get some "spring" in the house.

yep.  these are EVERYWHERE in Texas.  So clever....

cake in a jar.  why, yes I will.

apple pie in a jar- whaa, whaat.

simply gorgeous.  put in some Christmas lights, hang, and you're good to go!

Hope you all had a wonderful MLK day!
